No me funciona la búsqueda

Cuando hago click en el botón "Buscar" en http://65.39.226.151/musicians#search, no pasa nada.

Generally, a reasonably complete website that I can see being very useful if it gets enough people using it (aka the problem with most social sites) - I'm a fan of the idea of using it like this and the site itself generally worked well when I tried it so great job in that regards.

Probably the things that stood out most whilst using the application was the fact that:

A) Facebook sign in appeared to be broken - Likely a side effect of hitting it from the IP instead of a domain - do you per chance have a domain which is set up for the app where that works? If not, it looks to be a matter of changing the apps facebook profile to have the correct callback domain / url.

B) The UI at times was frustrating - namely, when trying to enter artists in a rapid fashion, I had to generally wait for it to be able to autocomplete one before continuing. Likewise, when searching for artists and projects, when none were found it would simple place me in the middle of the ocean with little to no explanation - possible some sort of note that nothing could be found would be useful?

I must commend you guys on having plenty of seed data as well - I was surprised at how almost all of the bands I tried typing in popped up as expected so great job in that regard - overall there were a few rough edges (see above) but the application feels complete and with a little polish and marketing would make an interesting product - I can't necessarily comment as to how useful it would actually be not being a musician.

A) awedition.com.ar - You are right about the FB problem, its domain related.

B.1) We should probably get the visitor's current location in order to localize the map properly.
B.2) Last.fm can do miracles. 65000 bands, 6 hours running one script to fetch them.

Tienes razón. Hay que esperar unos segunditos que se haga (por detrás) la búsqueda de la ubicación. Deberíamos haber puesto un "loading... " o algo así.

Si esperas un poquito la búsqueda funciona. Disculpas te pido por el inconveniente.

So being an old drummer myself and have had lived the need of finding a musician to complete our band, seeing this project has a special interest to me.

Comments
- I do like the CTA's to search for a musician or band to be in the homepage, however the is no sign of an encouraging login action in there which is really bad and it gets worse when you guys display the other menu options (dashboard and Musiculum) and when I click on them, then it shows the login or login with FB button. You should not display those items on all these pages after the user clicks on them. You should encourage the user to login/register from the homepage instead.
- Your forms for searching for musicians or bands take up more than 60% of "the fold". I know users will scroll but you leave very little real estate to display the MOST IMPORTANT information of your whole project which is the musicians and bands.
- Also, the filters to find the people or bands could have been in a fixed position somewhere to avoid scrolling all the way up to do a new search.
- Maps positioning is really awkward, you guys should try a horizontal interface. Might work better.
- The star icons on the bands/people profile cards do nothing when clicked.
- The email icon is kind of lost and small considering that the most important action you want your users to do is make contact with the person or band once they just found them.
- Feedback is poor/non existence when searching and nothing is found
- Autocomplete feature is a bit slow making it a tiny bit frustrating to try and add another thing.
- In the forms, you already have done a quick help text below the fileds, there is no need to add a second hint on focus (ie. ingrese un término para la búsqueda)

Final thoughts:
I think the idea is very useful. Would have been to me a few years back... many years back hehe. UI and UX-wise I think it has a loooong way to go but it is good enough to make users not go crazy. The biggest thing is that it works and. The social aspect of this is missing, big time, and its probably your most immediate biggest resource of potential users. Pay attention to that. Development wise i cannot say much about since im not a developer. Just the really obvious things I pointed above. Keep it up! The idea has a lot of potential to be used by a lot of people, not just other musicians but production houses, record labels, tv channels, a lot of people. Be good to them. They are your audience.

Good idea, guys, I'm pretty sure I'd use your site if you take it live!

Here are some comments about your application:

* The search: I know you guys are trying to return results near to the user, but if I look for a musician in México, the search doesn't return the band I added in Colima, México.

* Favorites: There's no way to unfavorite bands.

* Contact form doesn't work, it doesn't even have a custom 404 page

* Design: looks very good, congrats!

* Login: you already know about the issue with FB, just wanted to say that should work, it's important for users to be able to login without creating a new account.

I liked the name, AWEdition, sounds good, but I'd write it as "Awedition", because the users might think it has to do with a software for editing something called AW :)

last but not least, as you may know, your bigger mistake here was the lack of seed data, it was kinda hard to test the application.

Its a very good idea for music projects, i would love to see like to see the search form a little more integrated with the search form and i would use the map more than the form to look for people.

You guys have a very good idea there, and this looks like a very specific profile search, and facebook integration could be a key feature, so give it a try.

Nice UI design
Good location services integration
I wasn't able to send a message to another user it said: "email can't be blank" even when I entered a valid one.
I really liked the concept to bring this tool to the musician community, you could find new friends that have in common the music!

Al fin una aplicación como la gente para buscar músicos... la verdad es que lo que hay en la web es terrorífico, al menos en Argentina. Son pocos los sites con flujo de gente e información ordenada y accesible.
